Nearly half a million businesses registered on “Companygate” (Cégkapu)

The Companygate service, launched on 1 January 2018, is already used by 458,000 companies.By the beginning of June 2018, more than 600,000 documents had been sent and received by Companygate users.

The focus of the project “KÖFOP-1.0.0-VEKOP-15-2016-00025 Provision of central application level services for the unified access and interoperability of specialised public administration systems” is on the development of eGovernment services. The Company Portal developed under the project is already actively used by businesses.

According to Act CCXXII of 2015 on the General Rules of Electronic Administration and Trust Services, from 1 January 2018, it is mandatory for business organizations subject to the law to communicate electronically with certain public bodies and to send and receive documents via the official contact details required for this purpose.

In order to achieve this, the state provides the Company Gate service for business organisations. Thanks to the Companygate, all mail for delivery is sent to the secure, authenticated storage location requested by the business organisation.

Currently, the number of companies that are obliged to use the Companygate is 466,000, of which 458,000 are already registered and using the Companygate service. The number of documents posted from the Companygate exceeded 600,000 at the beginning of June 2018.

The consortium implementing the project is led by NISZ Zrt., with the participation of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Idomsoft Zrt., KDIV Kft. and Government IT Development Agency. The total project budget is HUF 9.434 billion. The project, which will close on 31 December 2018, is implemented under the Széchenyi 2020 programme.
